Stolen from Jana

Ok, so I stole this from Jana, a fellow blogger. It's a fun little quiz.

1) Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says.
"...to circumcised infants, baby boys who are..."
What to Expect the First Year by Arlene Eisenberg, Heidi E. Murkoff, and Sandee E. Hathaway, B.S.N.

2) Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?
Ethan

3) What is the last thing you watched on TV?
Dora, The Explorer

4) WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what the time is.
11:17 AM

5) Now look at the clock, what is the actual time?
11:24 AM

6) With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
The baby swing
Ethan yawning
Dora, The Explorer

7) When did you last step outside? What were you doing?
Last night. We were coming home from a Reuben Morgan (from Hillsong) concert at our church. Oh, yeah and we stopped by Grandma Brenda's house to pick up Ethan.

8) Before you came to this website, what did you look at?
www.ivillage.com

9) What are you wearing?
White t-shirt and blue plaid PJ pants

10) Did you dream last night?
Didn't really get a chance to dream. Erin was waking up to eat all night!

11) When did you last laugh?
A few minutes ago when Ethan was singing "I'm the map. I'm the map".

12) What is on the walls of the room you are in?
It's pretty sad. Just paint. We've lived here for almost 3.5 years and we still don't have any pictures on the wall!

13) Seen anything weird lately?
Swiper, the Fox

14) What do you think of this quiz?
Kind of fun

15) What is the last film you saw?
"RENT"

16) If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?
A new house and car for my parents.

17) Tell us something about you that we don't know.
I'm the oldest of five kids.

18) If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?
Stop abusive behaviors.

19) Do you like to dance?
Like it but am very bad at it!

20) George Bush: is he a power-crazy nut case or someone who is finally doing something that has needed to be done for years?
I think he's a great guy who is doing a good job.

21) Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
Grace Elizabeth was the name we had picked out.

22) Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?
He was! Ethan Josiah is his name-o.

23) Would you ever consider living abroad?
Living there? No. Visiting? Yes!

Eau de...

So I'm thinking of starting a fragrance line. You know, one that is just for parents. Here are the two scents that I've come up with so far:

*Eau de Vomit
*Eau de Poo Poo

Now there is logic to my choices. Don't write me off as crazy yet. Parents (especially those with kids under 3 like me) naturally seem to reek of these scents anyway. Why not make some money out of it? It would seem more glamorous then. Heck, I've even spotted a line of lip gloss called Chicken Poop lip gloss. If they can make money off of that, why can't I let the rich and famous in on a few "natural" scents of my own? :o)

Sleep...

People who say they sleep like a baby usually don't have one. -Leo J. Burke

There is no snooze button on a cat (or a baby) who wants breakfast. -Author Unknown

Without enough sleep, we all become tall two-year-olds. -JoJo Jensen, Dirt Farmer Wisdom, 2002

Sleep...mmm. Boy, do I miss sleep! Luckily, Erin has been pretty good about sleeping for long stretches in the middle of the night. My mom is also here to help out. She's been willing to watch the kids for a little bit during the day so I can catch a nap if I want to. That's been nice. I haven't really taken her up on it but once. I know that's what she's here for but I feel bad about leaving her to do all of the work. I'm pretty sure she loves it though.

We've had a few visitors this week. Our friends have been nice enough to bring us dinner each evening. That's been refreshing. I don't feel like cooking yet. Ethan has been so good with Erin. I'm so proud of him. He's been such a great helper and so sweet with her. When she cries, he keeps saying "it's ok, baby Erin" and then he pats her head. Awwww!!! :o) We've also doubled (or tripled!) our efforts of potty training this week with him. He's doing so good. I think he's finally ready. He seems so grown up now. He's not my little baby boy anymore. Sad but exciting at the same time. Where does the time go?

Anyway, Erin's hungry again. Gotta go feed.

Erin Joy

So it's been more than a month since I've posted. So much has happened in so little time. Some highlights:

1. My replacement for work showed up on March 20. The department re-org started then.

2. My job ended (early) on Tuesday, April 4.

3. My water broke on Friday, April 7.

4. Erin was born on Saturday, April 8. (A healthy, BEAUTIFUL little girl!) STATS: 7lbs. 11oz. 20 3/4 inches long.

5. John and I have spent a week home with Ethan and Erin learning so much about each of them and trying to catch some sleep when we can.

6. My mom came today to stay with me since John starts back to work tomorrow. Hopefully it will be a good week. She helped so much when we had Ethan. It's really nice to have her come and stay again.

Anyway, what a busy month. I have a feeling it's only going to get busier! :o)
