Misquoted lyrics, rubber stamps and life

It's been a while since I've posted an actual blog instead of just posting stuff that I found on the Internet. So tonight, it's time for an update!

Things with the new church plant (Freedom Church) are going good. We have right around three months until the start date of it. Tonight, we had a free concert in the park for those who wanted to come out. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I've been heading up the communications side of things (graphic design, web, etc.) and have been having so much fun with that. John is running sound (and maybe playing guitar?) and designing a class for those who are newly saved. We can't wait for January 13th to get here. Check out our website, www.freedom-church.org, to keep updated on news and such. (We're also on Myspace and Facebook!)

And the latest news, is that I just signed up to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. Stampin' Up! is a company like Pampered Chef, Tupperware, MaryKay or whatever that does crafting workshops. I've always loved crafts and loved teaching people new techniques. It's my "me" time to be creative. Now, I can actually get paid to do my favorite hobby! Cool, huh? :o) I'm not sure how involved I'll be at the start since the kids are still young and they both aren't in school full time. We'll see. I have a lot on my plate already this year. I have to be careful how I juggle things. :o) So, if any of you are crafty and are looking for a fun girls night, call me (I promise I'll get my act together soon!). We'll have a party and the hostess gets some cool free stuff! Here are some previews of stuff made with Stampin' Up! stuff:

On the family front, things are also good. Ethan is loving school and Erin has turned into quite the charmer and quite the mimicker. We've been setting Ethan's alarm clock on the days that he goes to preschool. He wakes up to a CD playing softly. One of the songs is "Awesome God" (originally done by Rich Mullens but this is the kid version). I caught him singing it around the house the other day but the lyrics were different. "Our God is an awesome dog erased..." I about lost it I was a laughing so hard. (Translation: "Our God is an awesome God. He reigns..."

Anyway, that's the basics. John and I are doing good. We're still trying to figure out if we are moving or not and the logistics of that. It will come with time. Anyway, time for sleep!

Make a baby. Win a car.

I found this on Jody's blog. It was so interesting, I thought I'd share. Apparently, there are great incentives to procreate in Russia. lol

Dr. Romano has hair and he sings too!

John showed me this video today. Apparently, it was a short TV series on ABC called, Cop Rock, that "was an attempt to combine the police drama with musical theater that came out in 1990. I don't remember it at all but I can see why it got cancelled. I can't say I wouldn't have watched it because I probably would have if I'd known about it since I love musicals and such. But it's great a good laugh though.

Check out Paul McCrane (Dr. Romano from ER) in some of the clips. He has hair and sings too! lol

The Dawn Of A New Era

This morning, we reached one of those tear-inducing milestones as parents. Our baby boy started preschool. Things went way better than I could have ever imagined. Ethan went straight into his classroom, no tears, no nothing. I wish I could say the same for me. :o) He has been asking every day for the last two weeks when he wakes up, "Is today was the first day of preschool?" Well, today really was the first day of preschool and from what he's said so far, he wants to go back as soon as possible! I am so proud of him for being brave and meeting new friends. His best friend Eli has helped him make the transition easier especially since he is in the same class as Ethan. It's hard to believe that this day is already here. Here are some photos of our great adventure. Enjoy!

A quick family photo before we leave to go to preschool.
